Multi Region DVD Recorders
When DVD's are made they are marked with the region that they are meant to be played in and a standard DVD player will not play a DVD that has the wrong code and so is from another country.
A multi region DVD recorder or player however will play and DVD, no matter where it was made or what region code it has. This can be very useful if you buy DVD's outside of the UK as you will be able to play them on your multi region DVD recorder and DVD's are often cheaper abroad and can be easily ordered from different countries online. The multi region feature does not affect the recording though as it is only the playing of purchased DVD's that is affected by the region codes.
